๐ฌ๐ท Greece Drafts 10% Tax With a โฌ500 Yearly Exemption
Greece's Finance Ministry published a draft bill for public consultation that would impose a 10% capital gains tax on Bitcoin and altcoins, exempting annual gains up to โฌ500. The tax would apply only to net gains when holdings are converted into fiat or used to pay for goods and services, and the bill heads to parliament in November.
Why it matters: Greece puts its toll booth at the fiat exit, which means every taxed sale feeds the state a record of who holds what. The penalty-free declaration window shows surveillance with a sweetener, while bitcoin in self-custody stays outside it until spent. Read moreโ

๐บ๐ธ US Wallets Move 17,795 Seized Bitfinex BTC
US government-linked wallets tied to the 2016 Bitfinex hack moved roughly 17,795 BTC, about $1.5B, across three days, according to Arkham Intelligence on-chain data. No sale has been confirmed, and neither the DOJ nor the US Marshals has offered any explanation for the transfers.
Why it matters: Roughly 17,795 seized BTC now move on the government's timetable, and the DOJ owes holders no explanation before a possible sale. With self-custody, your keys mean no agency decides when your bitcoin moves or gets sold. Read moreโ

๐ Breez Says Claude Code Sent Inquiries Up 14x
Breez, a Bitcoin infrastructure company, says inquiries from potential partners went up 14x once Anthropic's Claude Code arrived. Breez says projects that used to occupy a team of developers for weeks can now be completed by a single builder in an afternoon. The 14x figure is Breez's own self-reported data, not an independently audited number.
Why it matters: Breez's numbers suggest a single builder can now wire in Bitcoin without asking fintech gatekeepers for permission. Because agent-written code still needs review, open-source SDKs anyone can verify matter more as Breez's partner inquiries climb. Read moreโ
